Keep a Clean Chute

Moisture and salt can cause rusting of a snow blower discharge chute. These rough areas can create a starting spot for snow to build-up and create a clog. If there is any rough paint or rust, sand and clean the spots down to the bare metal and use a rust-inhibiting paint to protect. You can improve the chute's efficiency by waxing the chute with an automotive paint wax or spray with silicone before a work session.
