The Scabbard is a hard plastic sheath or enclosing cover that is intended to match the size and shape of your chainsaw bar or hedge trimmer blade to enable safe storage and transport. When properly sized and put in place, the scabbard should completely cover the cutting mechanism. If you find any part of the blade exposed it is wise to recheck your measurements. If you purchase a longer bar and chain for your chainsaw, it is recommended to get a new scabbard also.
