The purpose of the Pin is to fasten objects together, typically as a shaft meant to be inserted into a slot. If subjected to substantial torque, many pins are designed to break in order to protect other components. Some types of pins, like a shear pin, are very uniquely built for their purpose and must be purchased from the OEM/Manufacturer.
